Just enough is a powerful way to live.

My life hasn't always been tidy. My tidying journey began in our NYC apartment and continued as I tidied up my mental health and then my professional work.

I'm learning that as I tidy and simplify, I create more space for the things that bring me joy.

If you feel like your life is more messy than tidy, start small. I believe that there are little ways that we can all tidy up our lives.

I also firmly believe the process oftidying or putting things in order, doesn't only apply to the physical space in a home. It can also apply to our habitis, routines and careers.

On my tidying journey, I am learning to live with just enough. Just enough is a powerful way to live.

My top 4 parenting hacks / advice

Hack 1
Set up systems that encourage independence: We have low hooks for coats, low cabinets for cups/plates, low drawers for clothes, and labeled containers for toys.

Hack 2
Establish weekly rhythms to help reduce the mental load: I make homemade dough every Friday so we can have pizza for dinner and then cinnamon rolls for breakfast the next morning.

Hack 3
Embrace the sleep schedule of your kids instead of fighting against it: We go to bed very early because our kids are very early risers.

Hack 4
Choose joy: When I take time to recognize that parenthood is a gift, and that this time while they’re little is fleeting, I can embrace the beautiful mess.

7 questions about my journey

When did you become a parent?

I became a parent in April 2015, with the birth of our first daughter, Mabel.

How was the 1st night home with your first child?

The first night home was exciting, eye-opening, and exhausting.

What is the hardest thing about being a parent?

I have had to recognize that I can’t do EVERYthing well. It’s impossible to “have it all”, at least not all at the same time.

What is a super power you wish you had?

I wish I had the ability to function with absolutely NO sleep!

Where is your favorite family vacation spot?

We recently purchased a cottage in the Poconos Mountains of Pennsylvania (a 2-hour drive from our apartment in NYC) and we love going there on the weekends to hike and swim.

What is your favorite thing to do with your kiddo(s)?

I love baking with my kids! We play “baking show” and critique each other’s fancy creations.

How do you keep yourself sane with the stress of parenthood?

I wake up early. Starting the day with coffee, reading and cleaning before the girls wake up helps keep me sane.
