Just remember these moments are fleeting, and soon we will long for them again.

Hey,

Being a triplet mom is both feeling like a Super Star yet isolated all at the same time.

I get attention everywhere I go, but it's often hard to relate to other parents because I've never known what life is like without the demands/work of three babies at once.

Despite the unexpected, I'm slowly finding new ways to adjust to this new life and experience joys I never knew could be found.

Just remember these moments are fleeting, and soon we will long for them again.

My top 4 parenting hacks / advice

Hack 1
Get in a safe sleep routine from day 1! My triplets were put in sleep sacks and placed on their backs, in their cribs, with nothing except a paci since we brought them home from the NICU. It was a week or so of struggle for a lifetime of safe, peaceful sleep. All three have been sleeping through the night since 3-4 months, can self soothe, and go down without hours and hours of rocking/feeding/etc. It absolutely saved our sanity!

Hack 2
People say babies don't come with a manual, but they do! It's called the AAP and it's been an amazing, evidence based resource for us so we know our decisions are backed by science.

Hack 3
Consistency is everything. One baby or three, get into a routine and stick to it until they're like 4 haha. Our babies always know what to expect, and we're still able to push the limits and have new experiences without bed/nap/dinner/etc time being a disaster.

Hack 4
It's okay for your experience to not be butterflies and rainbows. Babies/kids are hard, and we are not bad parents for wanting things to be easier.

7 questions about my journey

When did you become a parent?

July 24, 2019

How was the 1st night home with your first child?

Our babies spent a month in the NICU, but when we brought them home, we lined them all up on the floor of our living room, I took one look, and then asked "okay, where are all your mothers and when are they coming to get you.

What is the hardest thing about being a parent?

Feeding them. As someone who eats a plate of nachos with sprinkled cheese at 9PM at night for the day, making 3 meals and 1 snack for 3 babies, 3 times a day, and watching the throw the majority of it on the floor is the worst.

What is a super power you wish you had?

To fly. Not to make my life easier or anything, just because I think flying would be amazing.

Where is your favorite family vacation spot?

Camping in the mountains of New Hampshire

What is your favorite thing to do with your kiddo(s)?

Going outside

How do you keep yourself sane with the stress of parenthood?

We have a very consistent schedule and safe sleep to thank for our triplets' ability to go down for nap and bed, and stay sleeping. This gives us 3 hours (nap time) during the day to do what we want (I do not do chores during this time) and then plenty of hours after they're in bed by 6:45PM.
